Carmag - New Citroën C3 Aircross

The box-fresh Citroën C3 Aircross has made landfall on South African shores, with the French firm saying the new generation offers “unrivalled” value in the B-SUV segment.

The new C3 Aircross is the second Citroën in the French manufacturer’s C-Cubed programme to launch in South Africa (the first was, of course, the standard C3, which we sampled at the SA launch in 2023). Just like its more compact sibling, the C3 Aircross aims to offer consumers a stylish package with a tech-laden interior and punchy powertrains; all for “unrivalled” value for money in its segment.

As mentioned, the currently available C3 Aircross models employ a 1.2-litre turbo-triple. The PureTech petrol unit produces 81 kW and 205 N.m of torque, exclusively sent to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. According to the brand, this powertrain sips, on average, 6.3 L/100 km. The soon-to-be-launched C3 Aircross Plus will be offered with the company’s 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated three-pot, which churns out 61 kW and 115 N.m.

As standard, the C3 Aircross Max features a 7.0-inch TFT instrument cluster and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, replete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The five-seater model offers a claimed luggage capacity of 444 litres. The seven-seater version, when the rearmost pews are folded down, offers 511 litres of boot space.
